Scientific name: Bubo bubo

The horned owl is a relatively large species with a length of 30 to 37 cm, a wingspan of 22.8 to 29.4 cm and a weight of 320 to 546g.

They hunt at dusk. They feed on birds, large insects, lizards, birds, reptiles, small mammals such as rodents and bats (including vampire bats Desmodus rotundus), small vertebrates and snakes.
